David Whittaker

David has spent over 20 years in senior technology management roles P/M industry in Director-level positions in major P/M groups such as GKN and Federal Mogul.

As Technical Director of GKN Powder Metallurgy Division, led major product and process development programmes, aimed at extending GKN's traditional Powder Metal components business into more highly stressed applications. Also involved in technical marketing activities, market research / analysis, product costing analyses, trouble-shooting at operating plant level, technical training provision and new technology appraisal.

As Director of Technology for Federal-Mogul General Products Group (previously T&N Composites and Camshafts Group), was responsible for new product development and technical strategy across a wide range of automotive product businesses : Powder Metal Products, Camshafts, Protective Sleeving Products, Friction Materials, Lighting Products, Chassis Products.

Subsequently, has run a successful consultancy practice, with a major focus on manufacturing technologies particularly in the engineering, automotive, metals and metal forming sectors.

Dr. John Liverton

John is a renowned Machine Tool technologist with Board level experience as an Engineering Director in a leading British company - Jones & Shipman, later acquired by Renold plc.

He has particular expertise in the design, development, manufacture and technical promotion of precision machine tools and is widely known and respected throughout the international machine tool industry and relevant research community.

Has a strong background in industrially based co-operative research & development projects within the UK and Framework 5 Projects in Europe. Commercially orientated with an excellent overview of the worldwide precision machine tool manufacturing business
